Who’s Next?
July 2, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Join us in a short, socially distanced march/rally in support of our neighbors whose homes are being destroyed by the reckless greed of New Jersey Natural Gas and the Southern Reliability Link pipeline.
On June 19th, a drill bit sent toxic sludge cracking through the foundation of Barbara Fox-Cooper’s home. Three hours later, the house was condemned. While many people, including Ms. Fox-Cooper, had warned the BPU, DEP and Pinelands Commission of the likelihood of just such an occurrence, in the rush to approve this ill-conceived project, those warnings fell on deaf ears.
We are gathering in this formerly peaceful refuge to demand that work on the SRL stop until a full, independent investigation can be held on this and other, previously unreported accidents, and until the lawsuits challenging this redundant and dangerous pipeline have been decided.
We warned them this could happen. Now one person has lost their home – WHO’S NEXT? How many more tragedies will it take before Gov. Murphy and the agencies that are supposed to protect our safety and environment act to stop this pipeline?
